最近关于Poincaré 猜想和数学江湖的报道，除了纽约客的 MANIFOLD DESTINY，另一个影响颇深的报道是三联生活周刊的封面故事《庞加莱猜想的数学江湖》。链接里可以读到一些内容，不知道是不是全部。

该报道的记者是鲁伊，我发现了她在 live.com 上的 blog，读到一些“幕后”内容，挺有意思的。原来两个月前就开始准备这报道了，赶在 ICM2006 之前出版也是故意的。根据风讯台，鲁伊正在MIT做Knight访问学者。

John Baez, David Corfield 和 Urs Schreiber 一起新开了个群体 blog：The n-Category Café。他们自我简介道：“The n-Category Café, will focus on that heady interface between Physics, Mathematics and Philosophy.”。Jacques Distler 是背后的技术支持。

土摩托，是个科学记者，他最新帖子里有这样一段话：

量子物理理论预言，所有的粒子都像一朵浮云，找不出确定的轨迹。可是，相对论却并不这么认为，在相对论看来，世界是决定了的，所有的物理公式都应该板上钉钉，不存在不确定性。

有趣的是，量子力学的浮云理论和相对论的决定论其实都是爱因斯坦创立的。他老人家到了晚年终于明白过来了：原来自己干了一辈子就是为这个世界发明了两种完全相反的理论，这怎么行？这个世界应该是统一的，他要找出一个终极理论，统一这个世界。可是，一直到死，他老人家都没能解决这个问题。
